This is the history of clans and guilds I’ve been in.

I joined this clan as a recruit on November 12, 2003, and accepted as a full member a month later. It was based on Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and its Spearhead and Breakthrough expansions. But a few months later, around January 2004, they switched to Call of Duty and its United Offensive expansion. Unfortunately, my computer was not able to run Call of Duty, and I was forced to be inactive in game for approximately 1.5 years. I was still active on the forums though. Finally, in July 2005, I got a new computer, and was able to play with them again. A noticeable drop off in clan activity was noticed though. They never managed to have more than 10 people on TeamSpeak at one time. They switched to Call of Duty 2 soon after release, which was October 25, 2005. This severely split up the clan. Many were not able to run CoD2. Clan activity took a big hit, and many eventually left. By February 2006, only the few dedicated members were left, and on August 13, 2006, the game server was shut down. Sometime in September 2006 the website was shutdown, and TeamSpeak followed in early October 2006. The clan was officially dead.
I was promoted to Corporal soon before the switch to Call of Duty. Unfortunately, even after my return, I was not promoted, even though I was one of the most active clan members.
Soon after Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 was released, which was March 14, 2006, I started looking for a clan for that game, and left the 56th Canadian Legion. I never left officially though (didn’t leave a note on the forum), and still visited their website occasionally.

I went looking for a realism clan for Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45. Unfortunately, this clan never left the ground, because there was a disagreement between the leader of TRO and the leader of the 45th Infantry Division. Apparently, the leader of TRO did not trust the leader of the 45th ID, and the leader of the 45th ID wanted administrator access to the website. Since the leader of TRO would not give him access, the 45th ID left, and the leader of TRO abandoned TRO as a lost cause.
This is yet another reason not to join a clan that is just starting up…always join a well-established clan.

I went looking for a realism clan for Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 yet again. I found the 5th SS Wiking Division and saw that they were not only a RO:O clan but also a CoD2 clan. I applied as a bewerber (“applicant” in German) on May 6, 2006. I was accepted as a full member on June 17, 2006.

Hi ! I agree with your observations regarding clans. Last year, I started out a private with RCR, Royal Canadian Regiment clan. We are a COD2 clan. Strictly funbased. Almost never scrim other clans except for fun. Now I am a general in the clan. We have about 16 dedicated people and just have fun on our own server with custom mod/and some custom maps. We have been around almost 2 years and survived lots of change. Good group of americans and Canadians. Our server name is Maple Syrup Soldier. You can add me on XFIRE as fusilieradama and have your clan stop by for fun play sometime !

Lee!! I was doing a search randomly for our good ole clan – the 56th – and your page was at the top of the list! Funny how after all this time and the site being down for so long and I search and sure enough Lee – the longest active non-playing members has a post! All the best, just thought I’d say hi!

Amouda! Great to see you. Is there any word on pulling the clan back together in the future? :D

Hey guys I just have a bad case of old time sickness so I search for 56th and I just found Lee’S post. OMG that was so long ago…

Yeah I was randomly reminiscing about the 56th days at work today, went t o check up on the clan to see if it was still around, and unfortunately, the site was no longer there.
Glad to see Amouda and, you Lee. Hope you guys remember me. Mayhaps we can organize a 56th reunion? I still have cod2, and I’m getting COD4 in a matter of weeks.
I also joined the clan in MoH and stuck through to the COD2 days. I joined around the same time as west, made it all the way to Captain, I think. Do either of you keep in touch with Clay, Bor, mistress etc.. ? I’d love to see all you guys in game again sometime.
Drop me a line if either if you guys are interested grudgammar@hotmail.com

I’m going to create a separate dedication page for the 56th soon. Since the website is gone, all I have to go by is the Wayback machine, which unfortunately didn’t archive more than the main page.
A reunion would be good, but I’ve lost touch with almost everyone. I’ve got some of you guys on my Xfire and MSNM list, but West and Izzy are the only ones I see on often since I only use Xfire now.
