I recently Google’d this topic because I needed to know if it is better to open links in a new window or not. Well, it turns out that it’s better not to.

I was having all of the links open in a new window because that’s what I do a lot while browsing. It’s a lot faster for me to open a new tab then close it, than it is to open a link in the same tab and click back. I guess I need to bind a key combo for opening links in a new tab, because right clicking the link for a menu is annoying.

All future posts on this blog which contain links will not open them in a new window. It’ll save me two clicks when embedding them, anyway. And I’m also going to go through all the previous posts and change them…*groan*.

I wasn’t even aware there was an ethical issue around watching Saddam Hussein die. When I went to an article which had the video, I fired it up with indifference. I wasn’t shocked by the video, just indifferent, for lack of a better word. At the time I didn’t think anything of the video.

Now as I look back, I think maybe I watched it because everyone else was. It wasn’t even that bad. It was just a hanging, not a decapitation or quartering. No blood, no guts. When I saw the CNN clips, I was confused why they didn’t just show the hanging. I thought, well, there’s proof that he’s going to be hanged, but you can’t be sure that he’s dead until you see him die.

I’ve said this before: I’m against the death penalty, but in extreme cases, exceptions can be made.

Anyway, there’s an interesting debate in the link.

A great way to waste some time…and be at least slightly productive.

The world’s largest lizard has astonished biologists by being able to produce offspring by an “immaculate” conception without the help of a male. “Although other lizard species are known to be able to self-fertilise, this is the first time this has ever been reported in Komodo dragons,” Mr Buley said.”
